Robert Hastang

Robert served in Flanders and was Constable of Roxburgh Castle. He died in 1336.

The arms provide a rare example of what is known in French blazon as a chef cousu. This is so called because in order to avoid the placing of colour on colour, the chief is deemed to be sewn to the top part of the shield.
