Everything began so as my young age. In fact, at
3, I watched on live Neil Armstrong, walking this 20th
July 1969, Boston time (so be it on 21st July at 3 h
56, to Paris time) the ground of Moon! Humanity realises
so an old ancestral dream.
“It’s
a little step for Man, but a bound of giant for Humanity”
announced
then Neil Armstrong who put down his feet (the left
one) on the lunar ground. This exploit is broadcast
in front of millions from viewers couldn’t get over.
A quarter-hour later, the other American man Eldwin
Aldrin (so often forgotten) join him for this 2 hours
historical walking.
That
it! I was marked at life from the print of spatial conquest
and world dream who opened themselves to us today, the
moon, tomorrow mars... ». During
long years, TV programs kept churning on the exploits
of the astronauts and rockets, which propelled for moving
heaven and earth. Moving heaven and earth, yes right
it, that I want to do, so do I, I must walk on this
far and away ground but already near since Apollo missions.
At 5, while the last mission Apollo : the 17th. On
7th December 1972, I was persuaded that Santa Claus
went down also from a LM (Lunar Module). It’s telling
you to such an extend that this events marked my childhood.
On this time, fiction overtook still reality; with the
broadcast of Space 1999 from December 1975 to August
1980 on TF1 (French national first channel. 1st season),
it was the first time, indeed at 8, I saw a science-fiction
movie. I was fascinated, captivated and completely enthralled.
The realism and the quality from sets and ships were
more than a dream. It was an invitation to a journey
on Moon and in space. It was also with this plot that
I heard to speak for the 1st time about a computer,
a magical machine that could calculating, managing and
planning everything. I didn’t know again nine years
later, we were introduced to each other and will change
my life, but it is another story....
You thought so, I realised quickly that lucks to
walk on the moon were rather minimal even non-existent
and that would remain only a nice dream...A nice dream
spoke by BOGDANOV brothers on TF1 (French national first
channel) from 1979 to 1987. These showed advances
from technologies and why not in a close future, “tourist-travels
on Moon and on orbit in spatial stations would be within
everyone reach...
For the youngest person who
read these lines and didn’t saw these programs : I think
that you watched at least the 2nd season from SPACE
1999 on La 5 (ancient 5th French channel disappeared
in 1992) and thanks to it, you took a liking to Moon,
since you read this page to the end.
I
realised so, contrary to all expectations, one part
of my dream. I moved one piece of Moon and this
little piece of a great dream that I guest you to share
with me ...
