Alan la Zouche

 

Alan served in Gascony, 1294, and Flanders, 1297, and fought at the Battle of Falkirk, 1298.

He was present at the siege of Caerlaverock, 1300.

He died in 1314. His father and grandfather, both Alan, died in 1270 and 1295 respectively.

Alan appears in The Falkirk Roll, H8; The Caerlaverock Poem, K81; Glover's Roll, B85; & The Camden Roll, D105, where he bears

Gules bezanty

The seal shows ten roundels, but the number was not significant at this period.

Roger la Zouche, died in 1285, in St George's Roll, E79, bears the same arms.

Another Alan, in St George's Roll, E342, gules bezanty a fess ermine

 

 

 

 

In Walford's Roll, C94, Aleyn de la Zouche bears sable bezanty.

 

 

 

 

William la Zouche, died 1272, in The Falkirk Roll, B86; The Camden Roll, D101 & St George's Roll, E175, bears azure bezanty.
